How Low Can You Go

Cardio of Choice?

>> Saturday, May 29, 2010

Today at the gym, I was doing my usual routine, when a girl came up to me and asked how I felt about the StairMaster I had just finished exercising  kicking ass on.  She said that she always she's me on that machine and asked my opinion. She personally liked the elliptical, but wanted a change.  I told her that the machine was hard, but it was an excellent workout.  I also recommended that she increase her time gradually, I remember that I started with 10 minutes and worked my way up by 5 minutes until I could do 30.

So what is your cardio machine of choice?

Hi! Just wanted to post and say hi - really enjoying your blog. Some of your posts are so bang on, I feel like we had a conversation and you wrote exactly how I felt. Keep up the good work!

My machine of choice is the treadmill. I am back to jogging on it now but do feel the itch to do something new. There's the stairmaster that I did ONCE to 30 minutes now by body seems to have forgotten how to work the thing! But I need to mix things up as monotony is one of the hurdles I've fallen over in the past on the way to being healthier. I'm not much for the eliptical - I somehow don't feel as though I've done anything even though I'm sweatin' by the time I'm done. I gues I just like to feel the pounding of my feet beneath me as I workout.

Keep up the good work! Once I'm done my exams I hope to start my own weightloss blog. I hope you'll pop in then and say hi ; )

First of all, kudos to you for doing the stairmaster. I did it once, lasted about 10 seconds and vomited right after:)

My cardio of choice is zumba class...I also enjoy just plain walking.

(kidding about vomiting but I wanted to:)

30 Mins on the stair master is commendable. I did it for the 1st time for 20mins and couldn't walk for a week....I'm not kidding!

My Machine of choice is the Elliptical Machine, though I have been tackling the Spin Bike lately. I have worked my way up to 40mins and I don't love it like the Elliptical but, I do stick with it b/c it's a challenge!

Thank you for all of your comments, you really make my day! Keep smiling & enjoy your weekend!

My machine of choice was an elliptical only because some years back it helped greatly with my weight loss. Right now I am searching for a good yet inexpensive treadmill. The stairmaster is no joke! I used a friend's once for like 5 mins and when I got off my legs were like rubber!

My choice..is NOT to do it. lol
But if Im forced...then I like classes..like step, zumba and kickboxing.
I do occasionally (like yesterday) hit the stairmaster (level 7), elliptical (resistance 12) and tread (sprints) all for 10 mins each....and chillleee it worked my butt out. In between each I did 10 push ups. That was a nice change up to the normal routine because staying on one too long can start to drive me Bananas!

Now you and your 30 minutes.....I say GET IT CHICK!!!!!!

I love the elliptical machine. Mainly because I feel like I get the best weight loss results for the time I spend on it. Right now, I've just been walking and not using any machines.

cardio of choice would be running. but the treadmill IS NOT my machine of choice. :) I'd have to go with the elliptical

My favorite machine would be the treadmill. I love the ones at my gym with the TV built in because I can trick myself into thinking I'm just watching instead of sweating/working out.

I envy you and the dreaded stairmaster. I haven't even attempted that monster.

My machine of choice is the treadmill. I feel so good running and jogging on that damn thing! I stairmaster is also a favorite but not the one with the stairs that move, I can't do that one. After 5 mins on that thing I am beat.

Well done you!!! I wouldn't last for 3 minutes on a stairmaster!!! Your thighs must be beautiful!!!

I'm an elliptical girl myself because it's easy on the knees and my knees are problematic.
