How Low Can You Go

Damage Control

>> Monday, March 22, 2010

This weekend was a disaster in terms of my weight loss.   I went out of town for my friend's 30th birthday.  She didn't know that I was coming and was extremely surprised.  We had a fantastic party, but you know what parties mean: fried food, cake, LOTS of drinks, no exercise (except for dancing!).  I had a great time, but today when I went back to the gym I felt as if I had gained weight.  I stepped on the scale saw 232. What is wrong with me that I can go up almost 10 pounds in a week?  I am not going to let this get me down for a few reasons, I have learned that as I can gain 5 pounds overnight, I can also loss it also.  This week I am going to be faithful with my regime, so that I can be down for Saturday's weight in.  I have already made progress by seeing treats and walking away from them.

Hang in there! It will come back off! You're doing what needs to be done to have a great weigh in on Saturday!

you'll be right back to losing in no time.

you're right..it's normal to have a swing of weight from 0 to 5lbs daily...

do you normally weigh yourself at the gym? i wonder if their scale is a bit off....do you always way yourself at the end of the day?

Don't worry. The weight will come back off. There are so many variables when you weigh yourself (time, scale, what you ate), any one of these could have caused the weight gain.

Great positive attitude! It's normal to have that swing of weight.

All that weight gain is water gain ma. In order for you to gain 10 pounds overnight you would have had to eat 35,000 calories ABOVE maintenance. Easy come easy go. Weigh yourself after a few good hard sweaty workouts and a few days of drinking a lot of water and you should flush all the bad stuff out.

I 2nd Mandy's comment...it's water weight! I felt the same way after vacationing in FL. I gained 3lbs. I weighed myself again a couple of days later being back on my game & was right back where I left off. (3lbs down)The best time to weigh yourself is in the morning, on an empty stomach, after going to the bathroom & being butt bootie naked!!!
