Tired

I went to the gym today and did a step aerobics class and spinning. I am so tired. Next Monday I am heading to DC and NYC! I am so excited, but at the same time I am so scared, I have been doing so well and I really do not want to throw all my hard work out the window.

In other news, can you believe someone at work asked me if I was sick because I lost a lot of weight. I thought that was kinda funny....

Off to bed, good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite!

Steppin' to the Oldies

Today was a good day. I went to step class and this week's dance theme was old school hip-hop. I LOVED it, they played all the classics that reminded me of high school. I couldn't concentrated because I was too busy singing. I swear I tripped over the step because I was singing, "Ice, Ice, Baby" and "Can't Touch This".

Even if you are on the right track,
you'll get run over if you just sit there.

Canada's First Gold on Home Soil!

Yeah! We just won a gold medal in men's moguls! As you can see I have added a medal chart to the blog so that we all can keep track of the medal count.

Today, I went to the gym and did Zumba which is always fun and did some weights. I am trying a new routine and also incorporating some ab exercises. I NEVER do abs because I feel that they are pointless, I never see any results. I am taking a different approach and I am going to try and do at least 2 ab exercises with each training session. I usually do one exercise per body part whenever I am at the gym. This is what works best for me and ensures that if I miss a session I do not feel as if I have left a part unworked. I love to work legs the most and my favorite exercises include:

squats (regular and plie)
Romanian deadlift
Leg press (I am up to three plates on each side)

I also like to do assisted pull ups and I am trying so hard that one day I can do on on my own.

Drama at the Gym

I am in Zumba class dancing away and a lady goes to put on the fan on the wall in the corner. Lady #2 goes and turns it off, Lady #1 puts it back on, next thing you know they are yelling at each other over the salsa rhythms! Lady #1 goes to the instructor ( who seems to have not noticed what is going on) and says that she is going to pass out if the fan is not turned on. Note that there are about 60 people in the aerobics room class. In the end the instructor makes an announcement about placing yourself accordingly if you do not like the fan to be blown on you. When Lady #1 left (about 15 minutes early), Lady #2 followed, so I am sure that they had words in the locker room.

I am feeling very blah these days, lately I have been feeling very bloated and I am not sure why, it is to the point that I feel sick. I try and drink tea, water and nothing is helping. I think it is because some of the food I had over the last two days had some milk in it ( I am self diagnosed lactose-intolerant). I know that I am up this week and I do that I have to do better on the eating front.

Not looking forward to Saturday's weigh in :(

Chocolate is My Kryptonite

The last Friday of every month we have a small bday party to celebrate the people at work who celebrated their bday that month. We forgot last Friday, so we had it today. I had 3 cupcakes, ahhhhhhh! What is wrong with me? I just love chocolate.


Today I went to the gym, did 30 mins on the stairstepper, 30 mins on the cross trainer. Wanted to do the weight class but the class was so full that there was no equipment left! No weights , no balls nothing. So I did some weights on my own and went home.

Hopefully all those people that got a free month at the gym willbe gone by the end of the week.

Shocked

I walk into the gym today and there is a letter for members.

Dear Members,
Blah di blah di blah...As of May 2 we will be cancelling all fitness classes.


WHAT!!??!! Cancelling all classes!? No more spinning, no more Zumba. What am I going to do? I love my gym, it is open 24/7 (yes it really is) everyday! Christmas-open, New Year's-open. I love that there are Juice Heads (Jersey Shore style) and girls that are half naked, these people motivate me to want to be a better me. I cannot even think of changing gyms, but I might have to come May because I really like classes.
I am going to write and email to the gym to at least give us an explanation. I do not understand how they can cut ALL of the classes. They could reduce the schedule, only have classes in the evening, only have classes in the morning, I don't know but they cannot cancel ALL the classes.

Uneventful

Today was uneventful, went out to eat with some coworkers and had a sirloin salad, asked for the dressing on the side but of course they put it on top (was not happy about that)...Tomorrow is the first weight in and I am sure that I am down, the question is by how much.

I will head to the gym in the morning for Body Blast (weights) and Spinning!

Tip of the day: Eat slower, put your fork down with each bit. I have been doing this and I have noticed that it is taking me longer to eat and thus I am fuller faster!

Gym Bunnies

What is a gym bunny you may ask? Gym bunny (scientific name Waitisonna Boyfriendish is the name denoted to a young lady who only comes to the gym to hang with her man. She watches him as he pumps and grunts away. If she is a good bunny, she will even dress in gym attire giving the illusion that she wants to work out, but alas she follows him like a puppy. Today I saw one at the gym and I almost wanted to shake her. She was dressed in jeans, high tops and a winter hat, and "spotted" her man as he bench pressed, she even helped him load the plates! I really wish that these women would at least pretend to work out, maybe hold a 3 lbs weight?

On another note cashews are the devil!
